The Busy Runner

Coaching For When Every Minute Counts

The Busy Runner Approach

Most training plans are built for people with unlimited time. Ours isn’t.

At The Busy Runner we believe that a packed schedule isn’t an obstacle to great running, it’s just a constraint to train around. Our coaching philosophy starts by understanding your life first: your work, your family, your energy levels and the hours you actually have. Then we fit the running in.

We build the plan around your life, not the other way around.

About Me

My name is Colin Richmond. I know what it's like to want to run well and have almost no time to do it. I'm a father, a full-time commuter, and a former college runner — and most mornings, I'm squeezing in a workout before the family wakes up or finding a way to make the most of whatever window I have.

What I've learned is that life doesn't slow down. But you don't need unlimited hours to run well — you just need a plan that's built right.

As a former college runner, I know what it's like to have all the time in the world to train. I also know that most of that training isn't necessary for busy people. What is needed is purposeful training where every session counts.

That's the philosophy I bring to every athlete I coach. No wasted miles. No cookie-cutter plans. Just smart, efficient training calibrated to your fitness, your goals, and the hours you actually have.
